Community Guidelines

These rules keep Nearli safe and authentic for everyone — in groups, messages, listings, and check-ins. Sections 2–6 apply specifically to check-in photos. By uploading a check-in photo you confirm it’s authentic, was taken at the event, and complies with these community guidelines.

1. Community conduct (everywhere in Nearli)

  • Be respectful in groups, messages, profiles, and listings.
  • No harassment, bullying, hate speech, or threats toward anyone.
  • No impersonating other people, businesses, or Nearli staff.
  • No spam, scams, pyramid schemes, or unsolicited advertising.
  • No sexually explicit content anywhere in the app.
  • No promoting illegal activity, and no content that endangers minors.
  • Meet-up safety: meet in public places, tell someone where you’re going, and report anyone who makes you uncomfortable with the in-app Report and Block tools.

2. Event verification

  • Photos must be taken at the event location during the event.
  • The venue, signage, event vehicles, displays, or recognizable features must be visible.
  • Photos must be original and taken by you.
  • Screenshots, downloaded images, AI-generated images, stock photos, or reused photos are not allowed.
  • Photos that can’t reasonably be linked to the specific event or venue may be rejected.

3. Location authenticity

  • Check-in photos should clearly show something unique to the event or venue.
  • You may be asked to retake a photo if the location can’t be verified.
  • Checking in from a different location with old or misleading photos may cost you XP, remove the check-in, or lead to account penalties.

4. Check-in photo content

  • No nudity or sexually explicit content.
  • No graphic violence or gore.
  • No illegal activities, drug use, or paraphernalia.
  • No hate speech, harassment, or discrimination.
  • No threats, dangerous behavior, or weapons shown threateningly.
  • No spam, ads, or content unrelated to the event.
  • No offensive gestures or inappropriate behavior.

5. Privacy & safety

  • Don’t post photos exposing private info — driver’s licenses, credit cards, home addresses, phone numbers, or financial info.
  • Respect the privacy of others attending the event.

6. Enforcement

  • Nearli may reject any check-in photo.
  • We may remove check-ins that violate these guidelines.
  • We may remove XP or rewards earned through fraudulent check-ins.
  • Repeated violations may lead to account suspension or a permanent ban.
